Of special interest for this sale:

  • We are fortunate to have recently received book donations from the homes of NBC Sports Producer Ricky Diamond; philanthropist and educator Elisabeth Luce Moore, sister of Henry Luce, who founded Time-Life, Inc.; and Joseph A. Califano, Jr., who served as Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare during the Carter Administration (for more about Mr. Califano, see:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_A._Califano_Jr.

Many of the books in the Califano collection have been signed and inscribed to him and or his wife Hilary.  Most are in non-fiction categories (e.g., American history and politics, biographies, business, sports) and have been signed by everyone from a former U.S. President (Lyndon Johnson) and cabinet members (Henry Kissinger, Robert McNamara, Alexander Haig, Hilary Clinton), to historians (Arthur Schlesinger), journalists (Woodward and Bernstein, Jim Bishop), entertainers (Art Buchwald, Sidney Poitier, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., Tony Bennett) and authors (Dick Francis, Robin Cook, Stuart Woods), to name just a few.

  • A collection of works by or about James Joyce

  • An extensive collection of History books, especially American History & Politics, WWII, and World History

  • A wide selection of framed art, from small desktop pieces to supersized wall pictures

  • An almost-complete set of the 1972 Encyclopedia Britannica “Great Books” collection, in very good condition (we have volumes 1, and 4 through 54; missing volumes 2 & 3)

  • Back by popular demand: our Fiction for $1 Room — An entire conference room filled with hardcover fiction, mystery, science fiction and fantasy books, and young adult fiction, plus paperback novels, all offered at just $1 each  [Note: books in this room will remain priced at $1 each on Sunday’s half-price day]

Please note the following Book Sale Procedures:

  • No books or other materials may be left unattended at any time.

  • There will be no separate high volume holding / evaluation area.  Shoppers are requested to evaluate items "in place"— decide whether to purchase an item at the table or shelf where it is displayed.  If you reject an item, please return it to the place it was displayed.  This procedure will be strictly enforced — any books found piled up and put to the side for later evaluation will be promptly re-shelved.

  • As a convenience for high volume purchasers — as in recent sales, we will be happy to begin to add-up (tally) books you have selected for purchase while you continue shopping.  You must leave your name and cellphone number with your selections.

  • Please bring your own bags, boxes and rolling carts to carry your selections.  We do not anticipate having any boxes available for your use.
