The Westport Book Shop is pleased to welcome local artist Paula Morgan as guest exhibitor for the month of October at the Book Shop’s Drew Friedman Art Place.  Paula is exhibiting a selection of her oil paintings of land- and seascapes.

Paula works primarily in oils, creating works that explore the quiet moments and enduring light of coastal New England.  Deeply drawn to color and light, her style bridges impressionism and realism, capturing not just a visual likeness but an emotional truth. Whether painting landscapes, boat compositions, or figures, her work is a journey into stillness and serenity. Each piece is an invitation to the viewer, offering a moment of quiet contemplation.

Paula earned a degree in Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design.  She has been a dedicated visual arts educator for over two decades. She is a member of The Artists Collective of Westport, as well as of the Rocky Neck Art Colony, and the North Shore Art Association.  Her work is exhibited in galleries throughout New England.

The Westport Book Shop invites the community to meet Paula Morgan and celebrate this exhibition at a reception on Thursday evening, October 8, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Space is limited; please RSVP to the Book Shop by phoning 203-349-5141 or sending an email to RSVP@westportbooksaleventures.org

Paula Morgan’s artwork will be on exhibit at the Westport Book Shop through October 31, 2026.  All artwork on display is available for purchase.

The art exhibit is open to the public during the Book Shop’s regular business hours: Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from Noon to 5 p.m.

The Westport Book Shop is located at 23 Jesup Road in downtown Westport, right across Jesup Green from The Westport Library.  It is a nonprofit independent used bookstore offering gently used and antiquarian books, vintage vinyl records, CDs and DVDs.  Its mission is to provide inclusive employment and job training for adults with disabilities, while raising funds to support The Westport Library.  Through its work, the Book Shop strengthens community, fosters literacy, and inspires lifelong learning and a love of reading.

The Book Shop’s “Drew Friedman Art Place” is a dedicated gallery space within the store that features the work of community artists, on a rotating basis; exhibits change monthly.  The exhibits are curated by Miggs Burroughs, a Trustee of the Drew Friedman Community Arts Center, and a founding member of The Artists Collective of Westport.
